Social Care
The Friendly Almshouses is a charity founded by women in 1802, for women today.
The charity provides accommodation for women, aged 50 or older, who are in housing need. We do this solely through income generated from subscriptions, donations, interest on endowments and maintenance contributions from residents. Women interested in living with us may be referred by social services and other local agencies or may approach us directly and must usually be living or have ties to a location within a ten mile radius of St Paul's cathedral.
Residents live in studio flats, with four studios in each of our five properties, supported by our wardens and Clerk.
