Company Profile:
Cotton Comfort’s purpose is to help people who suffer from eczema or other itchy skin conditions by providing super comfortable organic cotton clothing and a supportive helpful online community.
Around 10% of adults and kids in the UK (and indeed across the world) have eczema. In addition, our skin often becomes more itchy and sensitive the older we get. So we have two main retail customer groups – firstly, parents of children (mainly 2-12yr old) with eczema, and secondly adults with eczema or very sensitive skin.
The company was created 40 years ago by Dorothy Clark whose daughter suffered from severe eczema. In late 2020, Jo Greenslade joined Cotton Comfort and has now taken over the business. We have ambitious and exciting plans to expand the business and reach a much larger audience in the UK and overseas. Read ‘Our Story’ on our website for more background. https://eczemaclothing.com/pages/dorothy-and-jo-who-we-are
Our cornerstone is certified organic cotton and innovative clothing designs with real attention to detail. Our cotton clothing is incredibly soft and comfortable to wear as well as being sustainable and washing easily. We sell a limited range of clothing with an emphasis on nightwear and underwear, which is a combination of own brand and carefully selected third party brands. Our products are for both adults and children, however we have a more extensive range for adults.
We sell mainly direct to retail customers through our eCommerce website, but also have several wholesale customers around the world e.g. in the US, Australia, Japan. There is great potential to grow this side of the business further, primarily by identifying new customers and platforms.
Our reviews speak for themselves – having only introduced Reviews.io to our site in mid 2021 we now have an average rating of 4.8 out of 5, providing a wealth of material for marketing. (www.reviews.co.uk/company-reviews/store/eczemaclothing.com )
We are a small and growing team with huge aspirations to take this company to the next level and we are looking for a committed B2B Sales Manager as a key role in this plan. The B2B Sales Manager will be responsible for effectively managing the wholesale accounts and online marketplace distribution, maximising growth, exceeding targets and identifying new business opportunities. This will complement the retail sales we are growing successfully on our own website through the brand, marketing, SEO and community development that has occurred in 2021 and through paid media advertising that will commence in 2022.
We are looking for someone to take ownership of and rapidly grow both trade and third party sales in 2022.
As the B2B Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the sales relationships Cotton Comfort has with wholesale partners and online marketplaces who wish to sell our products. You will need to adopt existing relationships, working closely with the Managing Director who currently oversees them and then build a plan and process to multiply their size. In addition, you will need to research and develop a plan to find more wholesale partners, both in the UK and internationally.
Online sales marketplaces will be another area in which to develop CC’s third party sales, targeting the markets that chime with CC’s product range and features; notably specialist eczema and medical treatments, children’s clothing and environmentally sustainable fashion channels.
In addition you will need to measure, report and analyse these sales, using sales analytic tools and internal systems, working closely with the management team to ensure supplier readiness, stock levels and excellent distribution performance. Once these systems are bedded in, you will help forecast and identify future sales targets.
The role is part-time (with scope for growth if of interest) and someone who is motivated and a self-starter will be able to shape this role as the company grows.
Key responsibilities
• Develop a B2B sales strategy for the UK to complement the online retail proposition
• Prospect and evolve new global wholesale opportunities
• Negotiate terms of sales and agreements and close sales with customers
• Be a knowledgeable, passionate and enthusiastic brand ambassador, coaching and educating our sales partners on CC’s brand identity and beliefs
• Provide regular reporting, feeding back leads, opportunities and results to the Managing Director, for example analysis of sales figures, forecasting future sales volumes, data analysis, stock levels, best sellers etc. using CC’s sales analysis system
• Be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of CC’s wholesale accounts
• Help the MD manage stock availability, incoming stock and upcoming customer orders.
