Joining a small accountancy services business, you will assist a varied portfolio of clients with all aspects of their bookkeeping and payroll.   You will undertake all aspects of double-entry bookkeeping, including entering transactions on to Xero, bank reconciliations and monthly reporting to clients, answering any queries they may have.   You will also be responsible for VAT returns / CIS, as well as client payroll duties on a weekly and monthly basis, including calculation of statutory payments / holiday and timesheet generation.   You will need to have good experience in both bookkeeping and payroll, and ideally you will have previous knowledge of Xero software.   Any previous experience working within a firm of accountants or bookkeeping / payroll bureau would be highly advantageous, though not essential.   The firm are looking for someone part-time circa 2-3 days a week.   They are quite flexible regarding how these hours are spread, and they are happy for the successful candidate to be mostly remote, but nearby in case of meetings with Directors / Clients.
