Company Profile:

Are you an experienced HR Manager looking for a part-time or freelance role in an exciting, fast-moving industry?

OST is a specialist B2B social media agency that works with some of the world’s best-known technology brands. We’re looking for an experienced HR Manager to build out our HR capabilities and support our team of talented marketers. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in the success of a growing marketing agency.

In this role you will be responsible for defining and developing OST’s HR capabilities, including across recruitment, employee satisfaction and personal development. Critical to your success will be your ability to maintain strong relationships with our team members and maximize our offering to new and current staff members.  You will need to be a confident self-starter, with the skills and experience to build our HR function from the ground up (this is a new role).

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining exceptional employee relationships
  • Meeting our recruitment requirements
  • Retaining and nurturing our talent
  • Providing HR guidance on policy and legal issues
  • Contributing to OST’s Senior Management Team

Required experience:

  • At least 6 years of HR experience within a business environment
  • Experience of creating and delivering an HR Plan for a small business
  • Demonstrable experience of creating a successful recruitment pipeline
  • Experience of managing HR contracts, policies and administration

Required skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised / project management skills
  • Strong moral and ethical character
  • Good writing and presentation skills

This is a part-time or freelance position (22.5 hours per week) with the opportunity for remote working.  The ideal candidate will live within 1-2 hours’ drive of OST’s Cambridge office.

Benefits for a part-time role include: bonus scheme, pension contribution, training programmes, flexible working hours.

About our culture:
OST has a strong company culture. We have a relatively young team who are keen to learn and progress, but also to enjoy work (and life!). We have regular team events and socials, plus a monthly company "town hall" meeting, featuring recognition for top performers.

We have a set of company values which were defined in consultation with the staff and form part of our Appraisal Process and feed into Progression Planning. Open and honest Leadership team communications are also a strong driver of our company culture.

How flexible working works with us:
We have what's called a Best Work Plan for each employee, that is our agreement about where they work best - e.g. home, office, elsewhere. We also have 'moments to be together' which are times when we need to work F2F, usually in the office. Our office is a base for the business, with lots of meeting rooms and space for creative sessions.

How we support parents:
We offer a high degree of flexibility for parents and carers. We are open to agreeing working hours that fit around existing committments or allow flexible hours to accommodate changes in committments. This is agreed on a case-by-case basis and based on trust.
