Ofgem, the energy regulator, is in the news now more than ever.
Global gas prices are putting pressure on both consumers and energy companies. We are also supporting the government’s net zero climate agenda by helping to transform how we generate electricity, drive our cars and heat our homes.
Our work is attracting increasing scrutiny from the media, political stakeholders, consumer groups and the energy industry.
Effective external communications are critical to Ofgem’s reputation.
As part of a small but great hands-on team, the post-holder will work on a range of issues from communicating our reforms of the retail energy market to network regulation and net zero.
Our stories are often top of the broadcast and print news agenda. You’ll play a part in reassuring consumers that their energy supplies will continue and their credit be protected, at what can feel like an unsettling time as energy companies face high global gas prices. You will be equally at home developing longer term proactive media engagement strategies.
