The Opportunity

The fund’s current focus is on the rapid deployment of the £100m investment into the UK’s best climate-tech start-ups. The fund has made seven investments since its soft launch in 2020 but now needs to accelerate deployment of the fund to make ~25 investments over the next 2-3 years.

CGF wants to reach and engage with all relevant climate tech start-us within the UK whilst also promoting our portfolio companies and maintaining and strengthening relationships with our current and future investors and stakeholders.

CGF is seeking a Marketing Manager (part time) to join the team at its London Office who will be responsible for the marketing activities for the fund.

Working with the team and exisitng PR and design suppliers, we are looking for broad marketing support including planning and delivering the marketing plan for the year and promoting the fund to each of its key audiences of: cleantech SMEs, portfolio companies, investors, industry participant and stakeholders through management and delivery of communications channels.

The Person

The individual is likely to be somebody with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a marketing function within the early-stage innovation ecosystem, early-stage investment firm or other relevant role. 

We are looking for someone with the drive and initiative to lead our marketing activities. The ideal candidate would have some experience with start-ups and/or early-stage investing with a demonstratable passion for working in the climate technology space. You will need to be well-organised with great interpersonal skills to collaborate with both colleagues and portfolio companies to understand priorities, source content and be informed of relevant activity and events across the fund and the portfolio. Some technical understanding and/or familiarity with early-stage technology innovation would be advantageous.

This role is part time (20 hours per week – 2.5 days / week) with flexible hours to be agreed between the successful candidate noting that the best service for the fund maybe provided through multiple day working with hours adjusted for part time. The role will involve some time in our London office on at least two days per week and will report to the Managing Partner.

How flexible working works with us:
All employees spend some days per week in the office. E.g. 3 days per week. For this role hours and office days could be flexible to suit candidate's availability.
