We are currently looking to recruit lawyers from newly qualified to 5 years PQE to support the growth of our Leeds corporate team.
We are looking for strong corporate lawyers with experience in any or all of the following areas: M&A (domestic/cross border; private and public), equity capital markets, private equity/venture capital investments and joint ventures.
Background to the corporate group and the Leeds team
Pinsent Masons LLP has an international corporate group comprising some 140 lawyers, including more than 45 partners. Our corporate lawyers work with national and international clients (including corporates, private equity institutions and management teams) across a broad range of sectors advising on mergers, acquisitions, disposals, buy-ins and buyouts, IPOs, secondary fundraisings, takeovers, joint ventures and investments.

We have collaborative approach to our transactions which in Leeds includes a strong group of Senior Associates who play a key role in leading deals and provide close supervision and training to our junior team. The successful candidates will be joining at an exciting time within the Leeds corporate team as they will be given the support and guidance to progress their careers and play significant roles in the future of the team.
Training: Pinsent Masons is continually investing in training and development schemes for lawyers and we have recently launched a new structured global training programme for our corporate lawyers, including sector-specific modules and training on international deal execution and innovative solutions, as well as basics such as drafting and technical issues.
Clients and transactions: the breadth of the corporate practice means there will be plentiful opportunities for the successful candidates to get a broad range of experience supporting a wide variety of transactions and sectors. The clients we work with are high profile and international in nature which means the work is high quality, complex and dynamic, and often opposite US and magic circle firms. Recent transactions in the team have involved jurisdictions as widespread as the US, Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, South Africa, Australia, Ireland, France, Spain, Sweden, Norway and Italy. Our expanding global footprint means that we are often working with Pinsent Masons local offices or “best friend” firms.
There are also opportunities to be involved in the firm’s market leading innovation solutions through our Advanced Delivery Team, to deliver better outcomes for our clients.

- Sirius Real Estate on the acquisition of Bizspace for £380 million, and £135 million equity fundraise on the London and Johannesburg stock exchanges;
- ALK Capital on the takeover of Premier League Football Club Burnley F.C.;
- Amsric Foods Limited on its sale to Euro Garages; and
- Cory Environmental on the acquisition of McGrath Group.

The candidates required
The successful candidates will ideally have gained experience in a City or a strong regional practice. Candidates must be technically excellent but equally important, commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development. They will be team players with a strong client focussed approach and be personable and resilient with a good sense of humour. They will also have a strong academic background and excellent communication and organisational skills. All our lawyers are encouraged at an early stage to develop a sector focus to their practice, and we will work with the successful candidates to understand where their professional interests might best align with the sectors that we work within.
