We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Associate specialising in Patent Disputes to join our London team following the rapid growth of our IP Disputes practice, particularly within the Life Sciences and TMC sectors.

The practice

Our IP Disputes team is known for acting in high profile, high value IP litigation with an international element, as well as handling portfolio management matters for internationally recognised brands.

We act for leading companies in the Life Sciences, TMC, Retail & Consumer, Transport & Automotive and Energy sectors. Our sector-focussed approach ensures that we have valuable expertise in the areas in which our clients operate and a deep understanding of the issues that they face.

The role will be working with and supporting patent litigation partners: Tim Harris, Will James and Arty Rajendra. Tim and Will specialise in complex technical life sciences and technology patent disputes, and Will heads up Osborne Clarke's Life Sciences and Healthcare sector.

The team

Our London IP Disputes team is led by Arty Rajendra (Partner). In addition to Arty, Will and Tim, the London team is also made up of 2 further Partners, 1 Director of Trade Marks, 10 Associates, 1 Trainee Solicitor and 3 Paralegals. We also have IP Disputes lawyers in Bristol, and a large team of Commercial IP lawyers spread across London and Bristol.

Technical skills and experience

You will have gained broad knowledge and experience of Patent Disputes at a firm with a strong reputation in this area. Experience within the Life Sciences and/or Technology sectors is also essential to the role and previous studies/qualifications within biochemistry, biology, electronics or similar areas would also be an advantage. Due to the highly technical nature of the work and the structure of the team, we are looking to hire a Senior Associate, although we will consider candidates with more or less experience. The team has experienced rapid growth in the last 4 years, which is set to continue apace, so this role would suit someone who is looking to be part of an exciting dynamic team.
