Our client, a leading SME regional Law Firm are looking to recruit a Part-Time Finance Director to provide strategic input to enable the Firm's future growth plans.   The position is approximately for 3-4 days per week and they can be flexible over the number of days/hours required.  You will actively contribute to the attainment of the Partners' agreed business objectives by: Providing strategic advice and financial reporting and guidance to the Partners at Board level to ensure the firm's financial objectives are achievedMaintaining and developing all necessary policies and procedures to ensure the effective financial management and reporting of the firm's business and compliance with the regulatory environment of the firm and its staff The main responsibilities of the role will include: Contributing to the achievement of the firm's agreed business objectives at Board level by providing advice and guidance on financial strategy and decision making as part of the Executive management teamDeveloping and monitoring the firm's annual operating budget to ensure that financial targets identified in the Business Plan are metMaintaining an overview of activities and budgets for each operating department and provide guidance on financials to departmental stakeholders to enable them to achieve their objectivesLeading on the financial aspects of any strategic projects aimed at achieving growth of the firmManaging the preparation of the firm's financial and management accounts to ensure that these are presented accurately and on timeMaintaining and developing all necessary systems, policies, and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the business, within the framework of statutory and industry specific regulationSupporting the administration and management of the firm's trading structureCarrying out all other necessary actions to ensure that the firm meets its financial, legal and industry compliance obligations You will be a qualified accountant with extensive senior level management experience with a strong commercial awareness and experience of strategic planning and risk management.   You will have effective communication skills, both verbal and written, be highly computer literate and have financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting skills.   Experience at management level in a professional services firm is advantageous.  The ideal candidate will be confident in operating at Board level and as part of the senior management team, be energetic, proactive, commercial and with a positive mind-set.   You will be adaptable to change and able to inspire and engage others, actively supporting and promoting team-based working.
