The EDF Return to Work programme offers flexible opportunities for returners with additional support to ease the transition and is part of their commitment to recruit from the widest possible pool of talent, making sure that their workforce is a true reflection of the communities and customers they serve.
Whatever the reason for taking a career break, your unique skills and perspectives will not only give EDF a better understanding of customers from all walks of life, but help bring fresh ideas too.
EDF is helping Britain achieve Net Zero by leading the transition to a cleaner, low emission electric future and tackling climate change. They’re the UK’s largest producer of low-carbon electricity, meeting around one-fifth of the country’s demand and supplying millions of customers with electricity and gas.
HOW THE RETURNER PROGRAMME WORKS:
EDF has partnered with Inclusivity to create a programme that will help you get back up to speed in a friendly and welcoming environment. Applications are now open.
The programme provides six month paid opportunities for Returners and are available on a 4 or 5 day a week basis. These opportunities will allow you to put to use your past career expertise and to bring yourself back up to speed with the current market. You will be paid at the full market rate for the opportunity you are offered. During your six month programme you will be provided with 3 one-to-one Coaching sessions as well as pre-commencement training support from Inclusivity. The programme commences in September 2022.
Whilst there is no guarantee, it is the goal of the programme that you will be able to secure a permanent position at the end of the six months.
LOCATION / WORK PATTERN
EDF has offices across the UK and embraces a flexible hybrid working culture. The roles on offer have teams based in either London or Hove so the ability to attend meetings in one of these locations is required. At present teams are working predominately home based with up to 4 days per month in the offices.
SENIOR COMMERCIAL ANALYST - 4 SEPARATE OPPORTUNITIES
EDF has created four senior commercial analyst opportunities for career returners.
Each opportunity will work closely with business leaders to give value-added commercial analysis enabling business decisions to be made. Example duties from one of the opportunities include:
The Senior Commercial Analyst works across both the Margin Management and Commercial Planning teams enabling EDF’s competitive position in both the residential and SME markets. Through this, you will directly contribute to the delivery of £600m Gross Margin per year. You will deliver high quality analysis and insight leading to clear commercial recommendations and business outcomes such as pricing and margin activities for residential and SME, including fixed contract pricing, price changes for standard variable tariffs and pricing for SME customers who are out of contract. You will also deliver timely and accurate volume and sales forecasts to feed into Finance to support multi-million-pound hedging decisions. In this role you will demonstrate balancing short-term profit and longer-term value across all the sales channels in both the residential and SME markets. Your contributions are key to ensuring EDF both remains competitive and delivers against our customers’ needs and shareholders expectations and you will always look for new opportunities to add value.
Day to day, you will work collaboratively within the Commercial team as well as with the wider Residential and SME Sales team and the Marketing team. You will provide robust analysis and reporting to support decision making on having the right products, campaigns and pricing to meet sales and renewal targets and customers’ needs. This will include contributing to the design of pricing structures to maximise margin in both the short and long term and supporting the design and operation of a forecast process that delivers a demand forecast which underpins accurate Finance forecasts and minimises energy purchase and hedging risk.
About our culture:
EDF has a flexible hybrid working culture that focusses on productivity over face-time. Each opportunity above will work predominately from home however the EDF relevant offices are based in Hove or London. Thus successful applicants must be able to get in to these offices on at least a fortnightly basis.
How flexible working works with us:
EDF is open to Returners who would like to return to work 5 days a week and also those who are seeking a return on a 4 day a week basis. This combined with their flexible hybrid home/office work policy enables EDF staff to maintain a healthy worklife balance whilst enjoying stimulating and challenging work.
